You might have an area with deep greens leading into a beige and brown. That would flow well together. Don’t go with a bright orange into a blue or green. It would look odd and possibly hideous.
If you have expensive pieces you want to show off in your home it is important to be sure you have an area that is neutral to place them in. It is good to show off nice things but if they are in an area where there is a lot of traffic they might get knocked over and destroyed. Be sure you have a safe place for things like vases and other expensive items.
A dead zone is an area that appears to be empty and not in use. When you have a large room it is easy to have an area like this. Fill up this space with something whether it is an extra table or even a tall plant.
When you are decorating a large room you can have one big area that seems hard to work with. You need to section off the area into smaller areas and decorate accordingly.
